Introducing Our Building Block Workshop
At Grandview House Marina, we are always looking for meaningful ways to enhance our children’s learning experiences and create opportunities for them to explore, create, and discover.
That’s why we introduced our Building Block Workshop — a dedicated part of our curriculum designed specifically for children aged 3–5 years old.
Each morning, children take part in a focused one-hour building session where they explore different construction materials, experiment with ideas, and work together to create their own designs.
Unlike simply providing building materials as part of free play, our Building Block Workshop is a structured learning experience where children are guided and supported by their teachers throughout the process.

Where Creativity, Exploration & Learning
Come Together
During each session, teachers carefully prepare different building materials and activities based on the current classroom themes.

Building and construction materials

Hands-on design challenges

Creative building projects

Different ways to connect, balance, and create structures

Opportunities to share ideas and collaborate with others
Every session gives children the chance to build, explore, and develop their confidence as they bring their ideas to life.
Learning Through Building Together
A key part of the Building Block Workshop is the close interaction between teachers and children.
Thanks to Grandview House Marina’s strong staff-to-child ratio, teachers are able to sit alongside children at the tables, provide
individual support, and guide them through the building process.
Teachers help children understand how to approach building activities while encouraging them to communicate their ideas, explain their thinking, and work through challenges together.
It is this personal attention that allows each child to be supported in a way that matches their own interests and abilities.

More Than Just Play — A Dedicated Part of Our Curriculum

At Grandview House Marina, we believe children learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful experiences.
Our Building Block Workshop was created after researching and visiting other early childhood settings to understand the opportunities available for children in different programs
While many play-based environments provide children with materials to explore, we wanted to introduce something more focused — a dedicated building programs where children have time, guidance, and teacher support to truly explore construction and creativity.
This commitment to creating unique learning opportunities is part of what makes Grandview House Marina different.
Why Families Love Our Building
