About Grandview House Marina
We are a Play-based and Art Based Structured Learning Preschool. We care for children aged 2 to 5 years and provide a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development right up until they are ready to join Kindergarten.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on learning and creativity, in small teacher-to-student ratios. By blending indoor and outdoor classrooms and environments in a home-away-from-home environment, we are able to create a space where children feel empowered and ready to learn.
We believe that each child is a true individual with special talents and unique interests, which is why our industry-leading curriculum has been designed to bring their unique talents and interests to the forefront of their learning through self-initiated learning and incorporating play-based methods for teaching practical life skills.
We know that every child matures at a different pace developmentally, and academically; which is why we’ve developed Grandview House Marina with small class sizes and special individual attention at the heart of our teaching philosophy.

Who We Are
We decided to do things a bit differently at Grandview House Marina by creating a space that fosters early learning in a fun and safe environment where children can explore the world around them.
We believe that a school should be an extension of each child's family. A safe and supportive environment where parents and our child care staff work together to give your child the loving environment they need to grow.
Children have the opportunity to explore, experience, and express themselves through interactive play. They learn from interactions with their peers, and the gentle guidance of loving teachers steers them in the direction of cooperation and kindness. Daily interactions and redirection build resiliency and significantly improve self-esteem.
Extra-Curricular Activities
in addition to providing age-specific educational resources, our school offers a range of extracurricular activities for our students through morning and afternoon sessions from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Merging Teaching and Childcare
We offer a variety of programs, including an enriching curriculum for toddlers, preschool, and pre-kindergarten.
We also offer an after-school club for our students, starting after 3:30 in the afternoon, with the latest pick-up at 5:30 pm. We offer a well-balanced snack, and children are welcome to all facility equipment, indoors and outdoors. Teachers will engage students in art activities, dance, and other group exercises. Our After School Program is a great opportunity for students to conclude their day in an enriching and safe environment.
We believe that it’s never too early to start learning and that it’s vital to always present opportunities for children to learn and grow as soon as they start at our center.
By developing our programs with curriculum experts and childcare specialists, we’ve been able to hone in on what makes early education a success and created a learning program that allows our children to enter school seamlessly.

Maliha Fakhri
Owner & Director
Ms. Maliha graduated with a degree in business from York University in Toronto, Canada. Her passion for education led her to obtain a diploma in Montessori Early Childhood Education from Santa Monica Montessori.
She spent eight years teaching there, honing her skills and deepening her commitment to early childhood education. When Ms. Maliha discovered Grandview House Marina, nestled in the heart of Marina Del Rey, she saw the perfect opportunity to realize her vision for an early childhood preschool. She acquired Grandview House Marina with the goal of creating a nurturing environment that feels like a home away from home for children and their families.
Ms. Maliha aims to build a close-knit community at Grandview House Marina, where laughter, play, and growth are at the forefront of the experience for both children and their families.
Ms. Patty
Teacher
Ms. Patty holds her early childhood units from Santa Monica College, providing her with a strong foundation in early childhood education.
Since joining the Grandview House Marina program, she has focused on working specifically with 4–5-year-old children. Ms. Patty is passionate about teaching and employs a variety of engaging methods to captivate her students' interests, ensuring that learning is both fun and effective. In her classroom, Ms. Patty incorporates songs, games, and stories into her teaching to create an interactive and enjoyable learning environment.
Her creative approach helps students develop essential skills while keeping them engaged and enthusiastic about their education. In addition to her teaching methods, Ms. Patty loves cooking. She enjoys involving the children in culinary activities, which teach valuable life skills and foster community and creativity in the classroom.
Through these activities, children learn about teamwork, following instructions, and exploring new concepts in a hands-on and enjoyable way. Ms. Patty’s dedication to creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment makes her an invaluable asset to the Grandview House Marina program.
Ms. Frankie
Teacher
Ms. Frankie is a dedicated and loving educator who has become an integral part of the Grandview House Marina community. Her journey at Grandview House Marina began as a parent, where she quickly fit into the close-knit community. Recognizing her natural ability to connect with both children and parents, she is now in the toddler class, working with children aged 2-3 years old.
Ms. Frankie is known for her enthusiasm and creativity. She enjoys engaging her students through art and play, and Ms. Frankie ensures that learning is both fun and educational.
In her time outside the classroom, Ms. Frankie enjoys exploring new art techniques and incorporating them into her teaching.
Ms. Gladys
Teacher
Ms. Gladys brings over two decades of experience in teaching preschool-age children, making her an invaluable asset to Grandview House Marina. She currently teaches our 2.5-year-old class, where her caring and compassionate nature shines through.
Ms. Gladys is renowned for her nurturing approach, ensuring that each child receives an abundance of love and attention. Her teaching philosophy revolves around providing individualized learning experiences tailored to the unique needs of each child. She excels at helping children focus and engage with their learning activities, fostering an environment where they can thrive.
Ms. Gladys’ dedication to her students is evident in the way she patiently guides them through their early educational journey, laying a strong foundation for their future learning.
