Grandview House Marina’s Curriculum

Children’s joy and happiness is a big part of their learning. At Grandview House Marina, we encourage them to have fun as a part of their education, with child-led activities which are adapted to their abilities and interests.

At Grandview House Marina, learning is led through your child's spontaneous play and is focused on integrating meaningful learning with engaging activities.

We know that every child matures at a different pace developmentally, and academically; which is why we’ve developed Grandview House Marina with small class sizes and special individual attention at the heart of our teaching philosophy.

We provide our students with three different curriculums, including the Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-Kindergarten curriculum.

Toddler Program

Curriculum

Our early preschool program follows a play-based curriculum; it is designed to give children the opportunity to explore in a developmentally appropriate environment, as well as structure their day filled with exciting activities and learning opportunities focused around their interests. Our early preschoolers move on to our preschool program with the necessary social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language skills to thrive!

Preschool Program Curriculum

In our Preschool program, we start to use more sophisticated fine motor activities with our children. We invite children to experience mathematics as they play in, describe, and think about their world, as well as focusing more on sight word recognition, phonics, and vocabulary. In addition, they are given opportunities for advanced dramatic play and artistic expression. Our comprehensive approach nurtures well-rounded development, preparing children for the exciting journey of lifelong learning.

Pre-kindergarten

Program Curriculum

In our Pre-Kindergarten program, we incorporate engaging and advanced fine motor activities to help children develop essential skills in a dynamic learning environment where mathematics comes alive through play, exploration, and everyday experiences. By encouraging children to describe their world, we foster a natural curiosity about numbers, shapes, and patterns. Our goal is to prepare our students for kindergarten and successful learning in the future using an exciting, hands-on approach!
